Frequently Asked Questions

You do not need to be in crisis to begin therapy. People come to therapy for many reasons: feeling stuck, struggling in relationships, experiencing anxiety or depression, moving through a transition, or wanting to understand themselves more deeply. If something in your life feels difficult, repetitive, or hard to make sense of on your own, therapy may be worth exploring.
-
The first session is a chance for you and your therapist to begin getting to know one another. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, and what you may be hoping for. You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. The conversation can begin wherever you are.
-
Most clients meet with their therapist once a week. In some cases, meeting more or less frequently may make sense depending on your needs, goals, and circumstances. You and your therapist can discuss what feels appropriate.
-
There is no single timeline for therapy. Some people come for help with a specific concern, while others find value in longer-term work that allows for deeper exploration. We do not assume in advance how long the process should take. You and your therapist can talk together about what feels useful over time.
